Liquid Chromatography / Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS)

Exposure to drugs and toxins is a major cause of ilness and addiction. Toxicology tests screen for the use of illicit drugs by having blood, urine, hair, or sweat samples collected. 

In LC/MS, a liquid chromatograph separates the sample components and then introduces them to a mass spectrometer.

Data from LC/MS can be used to provide information about the molecular weight, structure, identity and quantity of specific sample components.
